We are pleased to announce that Global Child Care Services has entered into a purchase-of service / partnership arrangement with the Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC)

Two years since the project launch, Global Child Care Services’ fundraising efforts have brought the construction of our passion project in Kenya - Upendo Nursery School nearer to completion.

The Ministry of Education disseminated a discussion paper on Modernizing Child Care in Ontario in June 2012 and solicits feedback. The Executive Director of Global Child Care Services submits a response.

Global Child Care Services launches an internal fundraising campaign to help build Upendo Nursery School in Sabaki Village, Kenya.

Global Child Care Services signs a subcontractor agreement with International Safety Research to provide consulting services on a multi-year Children and Radiological/Nuclear Events research project funded by the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Research and Technology Initiative (CRTI) of Defence Research and Development Canada. The scope of the CRTI project is to provide the Emergency Responder Community with guidance on the development of specific emergency response protocols to address the needs of children in groups and child victims during a radiological-nuclear event. Global Child Care Services will provide the project team with early learning and child care expertise and insight via the active participation of two of its program directors/early childhood educators.

Global Child Care Services launches another Neighbourhood Drop-in for parents/caregivers and their children at a new location in the Epiphany Anglican Church on Ogilvie Road in the east end of Ottawa. With this addition, our Community Outreach team now offers eleven weekly drop-ins at six sites across Ottawa.

Global Child Care Services authors an article Emergency Preparedness – An Early Childhood Educator’s Perspective which is published in a UK Oxford Scientific Journal called Radiation Protection Dosimetry. The article was solicited following the consultation of two of our program directors at a two-day workshop convened by Health Canada and International Safety Research.
